Well its the new year and I really have to get focused on the things I really want to have some fun with – especially photography, video and this and other blogs (new blog to hopefully get rolling soon – “JoeD TV”. Mentor Series Trek Only “OK”

Well, the weekend is long over and I am just now getting a moment to report on the EXPENSIVE weekend. More info will follow, but let me say that the locations we were taken to where certainly not great, and for every location there was a comparable site on Long Island, in many cases better locations. The teaching aspect was almost non-existent, but at least it gave me a chance to see just what the programs are like and gave me some much needed photography time. Here are two images taken over that weekend.

I’m On My Way

Everything has been straightened out, the car is packed and I’m just finishing up all the loose ends before I leave for the weekend workshop. Looking forward to learning a lot and it also appears the weather will be fine – not too hot and maybe overcast for Friday, which is OK. Will post as often as possible, maybe even tonight if the trip to Allamuchy is not too long. Onward!

Have I Been Bumped?

Well it’s 6 days to the Mentor Series workshop in New Jersey and I have not heard a word from the group. My charge card has not been charged and I have not received any welcome info emails or the like. I have called the two girls running the workshop at PP and have left voice mail messages but have not gotten a return call. It seems kind of strange doesn’t it? Well, I’m still going to prepare and get ready for the weekend and hope someone returns my calls and confirms my reservation.

A Well Earned Rest Day

Well, I think all of the big jobs have been completed at work and I look forward to relaxing today and getting organized. I want to start planning for the big workshop weekend in two weeks! I have to get all of my photography stuff together along with all questions and “Must Do” lists so I make the most of the three days with the instructors. I’m hoping I don’t have to leave for the weekend so tired that I can’t take full advantage of the weekend workshop. I want to leave relatively well-rested. That will be my goal the next two weeks.

I Took The Plunge

Well, I am now a registered participant in the August Mentor Series Trek to New Jersey. Hope the locations that they have scouted result in some great images. Also hope the weather is cooperative as well. I have to begin to put a list of questions I have been trying to figure out and also some demos I would like to see to make my photography improve. I will attempt to discuss these issues here and then provide the feedback I received from the instructors.

Vacation’s Almost Over

Well my summer vacation is almost over and I hardly did any shooting! A few shots in Atlantic City – that’s it. Luckily I was able to get some fireworks images at the Oyster Bay feast in June. Anyway, I’m seriously thinking of signing up for the Mentor Series Workshop in New Jersey next month. Three days of concentrated shooting with hopefully superior teachers.
